I want   you to  know interesting facts  about   fashion   of   England  and  our  country.
And then   I will  write article . I hope, it will be   interesting   to read about it.

National clothes

It is interesting to me to know more about  national dresses of both countries.Every culture has own specilarities.
I will begin from England.England does not have national dress but does have a clothes culture. There are awide choice of different types. A far better choice for an English national dress would be to choose from our many customs and traditions we have in England. There are a wide variety of costumes from the spectacular ceremonies associated with monarchy to the traditional costumes worn by morris dancers and others at English country fairs.
Parts of Britain have national clothes. For example Wales and Scotland
In Scotland the national dress is a kilt
The kilt is worn around the waist
One of the most famous national costumes in the world is that worn in Scotland, the kilt, however some people say that the kilt is not as traditional as some would have it. Be that as it may it is certainly what people associate with Scotland
Today traditional dress for men in Scotland is a kilt with shirt, waistcoat and tweed jacket, stockings with garter flashes, brogue shoes and a sporran. A bonnet is often worn displaying the clan crest. Traditionally ladies don't wear kilts, they do however wear dresses or pleated skirts in a tartan material. More often though they wear a light plaid or shawl of tartan material

The Welsh national costume regarded as national dress is based on clothing worn by Welsh countrywomen during the early nineteenth century, whch was a striped flannel petticoat, worn under a flannel open-fronted bedgown, with an apron, shawl and kerchief or cap. Style of bedgown varied, with loose coat-like gowns, gowns with a fitted bodice and long skirts and also the short gown, which was very similar to a riding habit style

Kazakh woman traditionally wore a dress with a waistcoat. Generally, outerwear of women was similar to that of men: similar jackets, waistcoats, gowns, wide leather belts, it differed from men's only in colours and some decoration details.Headwear of Kazakh women, similar to many other nationalities, was also a kind of indicator of their marital status. Headwear of married women differed in different tribal groups, but girls' headwear was comparatively similar throughout the territory of Kazakhstan. Girls used to wear hats of two types: skull cap (Takiya) and a warm hat (Borik), decorated with otter, fox or beaver fur. A tuft of owl feather was often sewed to the top of takiya for decoration purposes, which also played a role of a talisman. Gimp, tassels, gold embroidery and even silver coins were also used for decoration.Kazakh men used to wear different skullcaps (takiya), summer and winter hats. Summer hat - kalpak was sewed from thin felt, mostly white, and had a specific ancient cut. Borik and tymak were worn in winter. Tymak is a warm winter hat with earflaps and neck flaps made from fox, which is popular among Kazakh men even nowadays.Bashlyk is another national headwear, made of camel cloth, which was supposed to be worn on top of other hats, to protect from dust, sun, rain and snow

Story of St. Valentine
"The story of Valentine's Day begins in the third century with an oppressive Roman emperor and a humble Christian Martyr.   The emperor was Claudius II.   The Christian was Valentinus.
Claudius had ordered all Romans to worship twelve gods, and had made it a crime punishable by death to associate with Christians.   But Valentinus was dedicated to the ideals of Christ; not even the threat of death could keep him from practicing his beliefs.   He was arrested and imprisoned.
During the last weeks of Valentinus's life a remarkable thing happened.   Seeing that he was a man of learning, the jailer asked whether his daughter, Julia, might be brought to Valentinus for lessons.   She had been blind since birth.   Julia was a pretty young girl with a quick mind.   Valentinus read stories of Rome's history to her.   He described the world of nature to her.   He taught her arithmetic and told her about God.  She saw the world through his eyes, trusted his wisdom, and found comfort in his quiet strength.

"Valentinus, does God really hear our prayers?" Julia asked one day.
"Yes, my child, He hears each one."
"Do you know what I pray for every morning and every night?  I pray that I might see.   I want so much to see everything you've told me about!"
"God does what is best for us if we will only believe in Him," Valentinus said.
"Oh, Valentinus, I do believe! I do!"  She knelt and grasped his hand.
They sat quietly together, each praying.   Suddenly there was a brilliant light in the prison cell.   Radiant, Julia screamed, "Valentinus, I can see!  I can see!"
"Praise be to God!"  Valentinus exclaimed, and he knelt in prayer.
On the eve of his death Valentinus wrote a last note to Julia, urging her to stay close to God.   He signed it, "From your Valentine."  His sentence was carried out the next day, February 14, 270 A.D., near a gate that was later named Porta Valentini in his memory.   He was buried at what is now the Church of Praxedes in Rome.   It is said that Julia planted a pink-blossomed almond tree near his grave.   Today, the almond tree remains a symbol of abiding love and friendship.   On each February 14, Saint Valentine's Day, messages of affection, love, and devotion are exchanged around the world."

Saint Valentine's Day traditions from around the World!

Saint Valentine's Day

I want to tell about St.Valentine Day, the day of LOVE! I proposed
to your  attention differences between cultures of celebrating St.Valentine day in the world.
I am going to tell about Britain, Kazakhstan, Spain and France.

Valentines Day in Britain

In Britain can be found so many verses of love and affairs of the heart that have been so beautifully penned in honor of St Valentine.

In Britain various parts of the kingdom celebrate their own customs and as the day approached all magazines were readying for the day that they published sonnets and verses to commemorate St Valentine's Day.

    Valentines Day in Spain

In Spain it is customary for courting couples to exchange gifts and for  husbands to send their wives a bunch of roses.

    Valentines Day in France

In France a custom of drawing for would occur, this was were young unmarried people as well as older unmarried people would go into houses facing each other and start calling out across from one window to another, pairing of with the one they have chosen. If the young man didn't fancy his valentine he would desert her and as a result afterwards a bonfire would be lit where the young ladies would burn images of the young man and would yell out abuse as she burnt the image of the young man.

This eventually fell into dishonor because it left too much room for nastiness, ridicule or even malice. For example an unsavory type of man might be paired with a flirtatious young lady, just for fun.
As a result of these customs the French government was forced into handing down a decree that there would be no more pairing or calling of Valentines.

      Valentines Day in Kazakhstan

        Kazakh celebrates St. Valentine Day
        on April, 15.

The holiday is called Ulttyk Gashyktar Kunine Oray (meaning All Lovers' Day in the Kazakh language).

The holiday was named the Day of Kozy Korpersh and Bayan Sulu after two lovers from a 13 century Kazakh epic. April 15 was selected because in mid-April the weather usually starts to warm up all over the vast country.

St. Valentine's Day or "Ұлттық ғашықтар күніне орай"?

The first topic that   I want to touch will be about  St. Valentine's Day! Holidays  is  an integral part of each culture . In Kazakhstan this holiday is celebrated on the 15th of April under the title  лттық  ғашықтар күніне орай", which is translated from Kazakh  « Valentine's Day»  . In England this holiday is celebrated on February 14, as in most countries.  Тhis beautiful holiday partly unites our culture.

But every country has its own history of this holiday.

In England there is a legend of the origin of this holiday. One legend says that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those married, he outlawed marriage for young men.

Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered  that he  will be put to death. And Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine’s death, which probably occurred around 270 A.D.

And in Kazakhstan, the celebration of this holiday is connected with the legend about the Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan-Sulu. It can be said the new holiday , as it was approved recently and is connected concerning the propaganda of national holidays and traditions.

An ancient legend about    tragic  love Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan- Sulu says: some friends from childhood Sarybai and Karabai vowed to marry their children, which even before the appearance of the light betrothed. Without waiting for the birth of a son, died during the hunting Sarybai. The young Goats and Bayan, still not seeing each other, but connected by ties of marriage contract, finally, fell in love with each other. Time passes and treacherous Karabai changes the life plans. He promises to give his daughter to the local  Kodara , who saved one of his flock from jute. Kodar  becomes a barrier between the lovers. In this eternal triangle of the first folded the wild Kozy's head. Disappointed  Bayan, to take revenge on the murderer, resorted to a trick. She promises to marry Kodar , if he has dug out for her well with spring water. Kodar   goes to work, all venturing, clutching his hair insidious Bayan. The girl suddenly cuts off the spit: Kodar    falls into the abyss, and dies. On his grave character of the legend stabs himself with a dagger.

Tragically beautiful story of love and death of young men and girls from one of the greatest epics of nomads was immortalized in many of the classic works. This holiday is not so common among us , but I think that it will change.

There are   histories   of the origin of Valentine's Day and the Day of the Kozy-Korpesh and Bayan-Sulu. But I think that counsel one and we can just call it the Day of Lovers. Just in every country and every culture it is celebrated on his own!

    P.S.

Interesting facts about Valentine’s Day :

•Valentine’s Day is the second largest card-sending holiday of the year (after Christmas).

•Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women.
